Hotel Chocolat full year revenue rises by 12%
Hotel Chocolat has increased its full year revenue by 12% to £116 million and said it delivered a “strong” year.
In a trading update, the chocolatier said it expects pre-tax profit for the 52 weeks ending 1 July to be in line with market expectations.
During the period Hotel Chocolat opened 15 stores which contributed 6% to group sales year-on-year. It also increased its number of online buyers by 200,000 and developed several new ranges for the coming autumn/winter season.
The company also revealed that trading since the start of the new financial year has been in line with management’s expectations.
Angus Thirlwell, co-founder and chief executive of Hotel Chocolat, said: “Hotel Chocolat has had another strong year. Whilst there has been considerable recent media coverage of retail generally, we are encouraged by the performance of both our new and existing locations.
“Customers are continuing to respond well to our luxury brand and lifestyle propositions. During the recent heatwave in the UK, our new Chilled Chocolat drinks, unique Chocs to Chill, Ice Cream of the Gods and improved Cocoa Beers have been very popular.”
The company expects to announce its preliminary results for the year to 1 July on 27 September.
