‘Heartbroken’ Vegan Kind cease operations

Glasgow-based vegan online supermarket The Vegan Kind (TVK) has announced closure.

TVK has been running for nine years and has thanked customers for their loyalty in an emotional Instagram post.

The business was founded by Scott and Karris McCulloch who stood down from their roles in June 2022.

It also read: “Whilst we were hopeful that the recent restructuring would enable us to establish a viable business into the future, it has now become clear that this cannot be achieved.

“Sadly, the realities of the current economic climate have left us no option but to cease operations.”

Customers were quick to reply to the notice, many expressing their devastation.

One person said: “This is genuinely so sad! TVK really helped me on my journey when I first went vegan and I always looked forward to getting my subscription boxes in the post.

“It honestly felt like having Christmas every month  Also thinking of all the staff who have lost their jobs in the middle of a cost-of-living emergency. Wishing you all the very best and sending love.”

Another added: “So so sorry to hear this. You’ve been such a bright light in the vegan community, I’ve had lots of wonderful bits from you over the years. Sending love.”
