GroceryAid Ball raises £550,000
GroceryAid’s annual Gala Ball has raised a whopping £550,00 for the charity.
Held at London’s Grosvenor House hotel on 9 March, the event was attended by over 1,100 leaders from across the industry.
The money was raised through sales of tickets and a silent auction on the night.
GroceryAid chief executive Steve Barnes said: “We step changed this event with a move to The Grosvenor, doubling numbers from last year. With many major retailers, wholesalers and suppliers in the room, the industry has certainly done itself proud tonight”.
Hosted by comedian Russell Kane, the event’s entertainment line-up included Ronan Keating, Escala and Filet of Soul.
GroceryAid is the trading name of the National Grocers’ Benevolent Fund. The charity was founded in 1857 and helps grocery workers in need.
The date of the GroceryAid Ball 2019 has been confirmed as Thursday 28 February. For further information, contact events@groceryaid.org.uk or call 01252 875925.
