Gousto appoints Murray Lambell as chief customer officer
Recipe box specialist Gousto has appointed eBay veteran Murray Lambell as chief customer officer.
Lambell worked with eBay from 2008 to 2023 where most recently he ran a multi-billion dollar category as VP of the global business selling team.
The appointment follows Gousto’s return to profitability in 2023 when it delivered record underlying EBITDA of £26 million.
In his new role, Lambell will support the business in its next phase of development and will oversee the insights, brand, sustainability, acquisition & retention, food, buying and customer care teams.
Timo Boldt, Gousto chief executive and founder, said: “We are deeply customer obsessed at Gousto and Murray’s wealth of experience and dedication to the customer will help take this to the next level, enhancing the overall customer experience.
“His passion for inclusion, care, and collaboration aligns perfectly with our culture, and together, we’ll create even more value for our customers while staying laser focused on our purpose.”
Lambell has succeeded Sally Matthews who has become Gousto’s chief strategy officer.
In a further move, chief technology officer Shaun Pearce has expanded his role to become chief product and technology officer. This has involved him taking on additional responsibility for digital product and proposition development.
Earlier this year, Gousto expanded outside mainland UK for the first time year with a launch into Northern Ireland.
