Fortissimo Chocolates sold to Adar Chocolates

Administrators to Fortissimo Chocolates, which traded as The Raw Chocolate Company and Conscious Chocolate, have announced that the business has been sold to Adar Chocolates.

The two raw, vegan chocolate companies have been operating in the UK since the early 2000s.

Prior to the onset of the pandemic, the business was trading successfully following the merger of the two separate operations in 2018. However, the impact of Covid-19, combined with rising inflation and the cost of living crisis, led to a reduction in sales.

Following the appointment of Stephen Katz and David Rubin of Begbies Traynor as joint administrators on 1 February, the business has now been sold as a going concern to Adar Chocolates. The move has secured the jobs of 15 employees.

Katz said: “We are delighted to have successfully secured a positive outcome for the dedicated staff at Fortissimo Chocolates and to enable the previously promising business to continue to operate following one of the most significant periods of disruption faced by consumer-facing businesses.”
