Farmison & Co re-launches butchers counter and extends delivery service

Online butcher Farmison & Co has re-launched its Ripon butchers counter and click-and-collect point as it implements its plan to return the business to sustainable growth.

The move follows the acquisition of the company earlier this year by a consortium led by former Asda chief executive, Andy Clarke.

The re-launch of ‘Cut by Farmison’ will enable Yorkshire shoppers to purchase Farmison’s full Christmas range in-store or buy online and pick up their order at the shop.

On 16 December, they will also be able to attend butcher demonstrations led by Paul Minett (pictured left) who has joined Farmison as a consultant on its retail proposition. Minett has worked for 40 years in food retailing, including for Booths, Sainsburys and Asda.

Led by new chief executive Andy Adcock (pictured right), Farmison & Co has been working to strengthen its direct-to-consumer business and build new wholesale opportunities.

This has included a new arrangement to supply The Grill at Harrods and a deal to bring speciality beef roasts into Harrods’ food hall. Farmison has also launched a partnership with ‘Fish for Thought’ to enable customers to buy Christmas seafood boxes for delivery directly from Cornwall.

In addition, Farmison has extended the depth and geographic reach of its London pilot with 15-minute grocery delivery service Gopuff to allow customers from across the UK to buy from a range of up to 21 of Farmison’s most popular items. It has also has extended delivery arrangements with DPD to offer customers free weekend delivery.

Adcock said: “Because it’s rooted in a clear principle to help and encourage consumers eat better meat, this business has always had significant potential.

“Our work to bring new energy to Farmison over the last six months has only made that view stronger.

“And because of those efforts, we can now look forward to moving on to the next stage of our plan – returning Farmison to sustainable growth in the months and years ahead.”

Farmison & Co offers free-range, grass-fed and dry-aged, sourced from responsible and sustainable British farms.
