EG Group to acquire Sprint Food sites in US

EG Group has entered into an agreement with Sprint Food Stores in which it will acquire all 34 of the US retailer’s company-operated fuel and convenience store locations in Georgia and South Carolina.

With the deal expected to complete by the end of 2021, it will also include the proprietary Sprint Kitchen foodservice brand. Sprint Kitchen offers made-in-store hot food items including fried chicken, pizza, and breakfast options.

In a statement, EG said the acquisition will enable it to extend its presence in the US to two further states while the addition of Sprint Kitchen will complement its existing foodservice proposition across the country. The purchase means that EG will operate over 1,750 sites across 33 states post-completion.

Zuber Issa and Mohsin Issa, co-founders and co-chief executives of EG Group, said: “As we continue to grow our presence in the US, we look forward to welcoming Sprint colleagues and these attractive 34 stores to the EG Group family and growing the Sprint brand in Georgia and South Carolina.”
