Domino’s reports strong fourth quarter growth
Domino’s Pizza saw its group system sales climb by 18.2% in its fourth quarter as it achieved strong growth in both its established and newer markets.
In the 13 weeks to 24 December, UK like-for-like sales excluding stores in split territories were up 6.1%.
The company opened 37 new UK stores in the period and had a record 95 UK openings in 2017. At the end of the period, the company had 1,192 stores group-wide,
UK online sales were up 14.5% year-on-year, representing 77% of system sales in the quarter,
Domino’s said its full year underlying pre-tax profit is now expected to be slightly above the current range of market expectations.
David Wild, Domino’s chief executive, said: “We are pleased to report a good performance in Q4, completing another year of significant progress and growth for Domino’s. With a record year for new store openings and continued like-for-like sales increases, the UK business has demonstrated its resilience in a challenging economic and competitive environment. Our international operations are growing in scale and benefiting from our expertise in supply chain and digital. “
