Cornish Bakery hails “runaway success” at Milton Keynes
Cornish Bakery has hailed the “runaway success” of its new outlet in Milton Keynes.
The company said its 65th bakery has exceeded all expectations by taking a record £40,000 within its first week of trading at Centre:mk.
At 200 square metres, the space represents Cornish Bakery’s biggest opening this year.
Cornish Bakery managing director Mat Finch said: “We all knew that Milton Keynes, with its significant scale of space, was going to be a successful opening for us.
“But even we weren’t quite expecting the extreme runaway success of the first week alone.
“Our first week sales were well in excess of £40,000 – yet another record breaking result in the record breaking year that has seen us surpass sales of over £1 million per week, and enter the Top 100 of all fast-growth retail companies in the UK.”
The new store follows a run of recent Cornish Bakery openings in Taunton, Chelmsford and Winchester.
The company is in the final stages of the build and renovation work for a new outlet in Cirencester which is due to launch in January. It also has a strong pipeline of new locations and properties for openings in 2025 as it works towards its ambition to triple in size.
