Cook continues retail expansion
Having opened its 100th shop at the beginning of the year, Cook is continuing its retail expansion by finding new sites for selling its award-winning range of frozen meals and puddings.
In the last few weeks, the retailer has opened two new Essex shops in Frinton-on-Sea and Chelmsford and is now looking forward to launching a new store in Christchurch in Dorset on 29 November. This will be the retailer’s last opening of the year.
Looking ahead, Matthew Bourne, director of retail at Cook, said: “We have a strong pipeline for January onwards with another six shops in the final stage of contract negotiations.”
Usually situated on high streets, Cook shops aim to be a key part of their community by providing a welcoming place for customers to shop. This includes providing shoppers with a hot taster of one the retailer’s most popular dishes.
The stores also donate meals to local charities and offer a 30% discount for community events for 20 people or more.
Cook is a founding member of B Corp UK, the community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance. It has also received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its RAW Talent scheme, which helps people looking to rebuild their lives into the security of a job.
