Construction to start on Lidl’s new UK headquarters
The construction of Lidl’s new UK head office in Tolworth is due to begin this month.
Northamptonshire based construction firm Winvic has been appointed to build the 250,000 square foot facility which will be just five miles from Lidl’s current headquarters. The project is expected to take two years to complete.
Winvic has already built Lidl’s UK distribution centre in Exeter. Distribution centres are also underway in Motherwell and Doncaster.
Lidl is moving to the new office due it outgrowing its current site and needing more space for employees.
The move is expected to provide a boost to the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames with the creation of further jobs. It will also help to support the supermarket’s expansion across the UK.
