Co-op re-opens trio of stores after major makeovers

Co-op has re-opened three stores following an investment in major makeovers.

The shops in Topsham in Devon, Scarborough in Yorkshire and Tupsley in Herefordshire have all been transformed with a new look and layout.

Ranging from 1,000 to 2,300 square feet, all three stores have new refrigeration to cut energy consumption.

Products include an improved fresh produce offering along with food-to-go and meal deals, frozen food, dairy, bakery, Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers, ready meals and every day essentials.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

The shops also act as fulfilment hubs for Co-op’s quick commerce operation for online home delivery of groceries via Co-op’s own online shop.

In addition, soft plastic recycling is available to enable shoppers to return harder to recycle materials such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers, and pet food pouches.

Speaking at the relaunch of the Topsham store where he has worked for 25 years, Daniel Case, Co-op store manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to invest in Topsham and relaunch Co-op’s Fore Street store. It looks incredible, and we have had a great response from the community.

“The store has been totally transformed with a fresh new-look and feel, and extended range of products – we pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice and value which can be enjoyed by everyone.

“We really look forward to welcoming our members and customers into their new-look Co-op. We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support our community.”
