Co-op opens new store in Cardiff as part of South Wales push

The Co-op has opened a new store in Cardiff’s Capital Quarter.

The opening is being followed by the launch of two further South Wales stores during the coming week in Commercial Road in Machen and West Cross in Swansea.

Running on 100% renewable electricity, the Cardiff store sells a range of fresh food, food-to-go, wines, hot food and  everyday essentials. It also features a bakery and Costa coffee.

Giles Jenkins, Co-op area manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to make further significant investment in South Wales. Our aim is for stores to operate at the heart of local life – a community hub. We want the community to know that they can also become a co-owner of their Co-op, and that as a Member they will raise money for local causes every time they swipe their Membership card when buying own-brand products.”
