Co-op embarks on music festival partnership with Live Nation
The Co-op has teamed up with Live Nation in a partnership that will see it become the first UK food retailer to have a supermarket at four major summer music festivals.
The retailer will have 6,000 square foot shops at the Download, Latitude, Reading and Leeds festivals this summer. Each store will stock over 200 essential items including food, water, beer and wine, as well as toiletries, medicines and sun cream.
Amanda Jennings, director of marketing communications at Co-op said: “This industry-first deal puts Co-op at the heart of festival communities this summer. It shows our ambition to reach out to new and younger customers, providing essential and quality products. Co-op is all about being close to the customer and it doesn’t get much closer than being right outside your tent.”
Open from 7am until 1am, the shops will be restocked every day and will be fully staffed with a high number of till points. The stores will be situated in the campsite area of each festival.
The Co-op will support the partnership with a digital and social media campaign, together with PR and experiential activities.
