Co-op appoints former Ocado Solutions CEO to its board

Co-op has appointed Luke Jensen, the former chief executive of Ocado Solutions, as a non-executive director.

Possessing a wealth of experience in the global food retail sector, Jensen will take up his role on 19 February. Prior to joining Ocado in 2017, he held various senior roles at Sainsbury’s and was also a non-executive director at Asos. He is currently executive chair at Hana Group.

Jensen has been recruited as a successor to Stevie Spring who will step down from the board at the end of her nine-year term in June.

In a further appointment, Moni Mannings has joined the business as senior independent director. She currently sits on the boards of Hargreaves Lansdown, EasyJet and Land Securities and was previously a partner at several global law firms.

Co-op has also confirmed that Debbie White succeeded Allan Leighton as chair on 2 January, although Leighton will remain on the board as an independent non-executive director until 18 February when he reaches the end of his nine-year term.
