Cadbury launches its first vegan chocolate bar
Cadbury has unveiled its first-ever plant-based chocolate bar.
The new dairy-free bar – called Plant Bar – is a vegan version of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk – one of the most popular chocolate bars in the UK. Cadbury’s Plant Bar marks a milestone for the iconic chocolate brand. The new vegan certified chocolate bar is made with a blend of cocoa, almond paste, and rice extract, to deliver delicious chocolate, with a lusciously smooth texture.
Accompanying the announcement, Cadbury has issued a very British apology to all plant-based eaters across the country.
The apology reads: “Dear plant-based Britain, We’re sorry.
“Sorry, it’s taken this long. Sorry, it seemed like we weren’t listening. Sorry for not being able to respond to the rumours. And sorry for all the other chocolate you had to eat while you waited.”
Cadbury continued by explaining that it wanted its first vegan chocolate to be perfect.
Cadbury Plant Bar has launched in two delicious flavours, Smooth Chocolate and Salted Caramel.
The Plant Bar will be priced at £2.50 and available to buy at Sainsbury’s from November and other supermarkets and newsagents across the UK from January 2022.
