BOXPARK to open first London BoxHall site next year
The BOXPARK retail, leisure and dining destination is to bring its new BoxHall concept to London as part of its expansion plans.
The company has agreed a 15-year lease for the historic Metropolitan Arcade building in the city with the site’s freehold owners, TfL.
First opened in 1912 and situated close to Liverpool Street station, the site is served by a range of rail services, four Tube lines, London Overground and the forthcoming Elizabeth line.
BoxHall is the group’s new, premium food, beer and music hall concept where all sites will be developed in existing buildings. The company has also recently announced that it will open the debut BoxHall concept in Bristol in June.
When it launches in the summer of 2023, the new BoxHall City will offer all-day social dining experience that includes food, drink and events all under one roof. The venue will also be home to signature bars specialising in a range of draught, tank and craft beers.
Roger Wade, founder and chief executive of BOXPARK, said: “We are delighted to sign this new BoxHall site with TfL in the heart of the City, where BOXPARK was born 10 years ago. Our team have worked extremely hard to secure the Met Arcade – a fantastic, historical site built in the Victoria era, originally the entrance to Liverpool Street Station. We are excited to repurpose the building and make it home to a premium food, beer and music hall – BoxHall, whilst retaining its character and feel.”
