Borough Market launches postal delivery service

London’s Borough Market is launching a carbon neutral postal delivery service to enable foodies from across the UK to order food from its traders.

The new Borough by Post service allows shoppers to order their favourite treats from up to 20 of the market’s traders with a single consolidated delivery charge. The service is being offered in addition to the Borough Market Online local delivery service for London-based customers.

Customers can order online via Borough Market’s website from a range of products that includes cheese, cured meats, fresh fruit and vegetables, pies, bread, drinks and store cupboard ingredients, as well as four specially curated festive hampers.

Borough Market will be remaining open throughout this second lockdown period and Borough Market Kitchen’s traders, restaurants and cafes will be serving hot food to be taken away and eaten off-site. A click and collect is also available.

Darren Henaghan, managing director at Borough Market, said: “As London’s oldest food market, we’re committed to providing an essential service for customers living and working nearby. In normal circumstances we’d also be welcoming shoppers from across the capital – and the rest of the UK – who come to buy from our traders when they’re visiting London. This new and expanded service means that people can still get their favourite comfort foods and special treats during lockdown, wherever they live – and those who’ve read about us but never had the chance to pop in can now try some of our wonderful food without having to leave their homes.”
