Borough Market launches drive through shopping service
London’s Borough Market has launched a new click and collect service to enable shoppers to order groceries online and collect their orders from the market without leaving their car.
Called ‘Borough Market Online’, the service is available from 1pm to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
Once they have booked a pick-up slot, customers can drive into a collection by car area in Bedale Street where a member of the Borough Market team will be waiting to place their groceries in the car boot. All staff follow social distancing guidelines and wear masks and gloves.
Darren Henaghan, managing director of Borough Market, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to access our traders’ wonderful range of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and cheeses. This new service is for Londoners who live or work locally but don’t want to come into contact with others – they can pick up all their essential ingredients without having to leave their car.”
Customers can also use Borough Market’s home delivery service which has been extended to a 4.5 mile radius of the market.
Borough Market is still open for personal visits by customers from Monday to Saturday, although social distancing measures have been introduced.
