B&M hails strong first quarter trading
B&M has posted a 13.5% increase in first quarter group revenue to £1.32 billion.
In the 13 weeks to 24 June 2023, the retailer enjoyed strong trading momentum across all three of its retail fascias.
B&M UK grew its like-for-like sales by 9.2% after both its grocery and general merchandise categories performed well.
Meanwhile total sales at Heron Foods and B&M’s French business increased by 19.4% and 29.1% respectively.
The retailer said it is maintaining a strong focus on stock and cost disciplines across the group.
Alex Russo, B&M chief executive, added: “Our strong trading momentum demonstrates the strength of our unchanged strategy to relentlessly focus on price, product and excellence in retail standards. The business is well positioned as we start to transition to our autumn winter season. We will continue to work hard to help all our customers manage the cost-of-living crisis.”
