B&M chairman to step down
B&M has announced that its chairman Peter Bamford is to retire during the current calendar year.
Bamford has held the position since March 2018 when he succeeded Sir Terry Leahy.
B&M has now appointed an executive search firm to find his replacement. The recruitment process is being led by Tiffany Hall, B&M’s senior independent director.
Bamford’s retirement date has not yet been set but he will continue to serve as chairman until he can complete an orderly handover to his successor.
Alex Russo, B&M chief executive, said: “‘Peter has been a great business partner since I joined the business in 2020. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him, both personally and professionally. His unrelenting drive in reinforcing the B&M culture at oard level has been of the first order. We wish him all the best in his next personal project.”
