Bestway Retail strengthens leadership team

Bestway Retail, the operator of the Best-one, Costcutter, Bargain Booze and Wine Rack brands, has made three senior appointments within its retail team.

In a first appointment, Nick Russell (pictured) has returned to the business in the new role of head of symbol where he will lead the independent Best-one and Costcutter estates.

He previously worked for Costcutter from 2013 to 2021, most recently as head of new business and acquisitions. He then expanded his experience in the grocery sector by working with the Morrisons supermarket chain as head of independent franchise and new business at Morrison’s Daily.

Steve Moore will also be returning to Bestway to lead the Midlands and South Wales team from January 2025 in his new role as regional controller for Costcutter and Best-one. He is currently working with Parfett’s as head of retail, leading the sales and support teams.

Meanwhile, Rodney Tucker has joined the new business and acquisitions team where he will drive the recruitment of new business in the Southwest and South Wales territories.

Tucker has been working for the last four years as but prior to that held regional management positions within both Costcutter and Best-one.

Jamie Davison, retail director at Bestway, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the very talented Nick, Rodney and Steve to their new roles within the business. They bring with them valuable expertise, knowledge and sector understanding that will support our growth plans and the service we offer our valued retailers.”

Bestway Retail is part of Bestway Wholesale, one of the UK’s largest independent food and drink wholesalers.
