Berry Bros. & Rudd appoints new wine buyer
Wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd has appointed Davy Zyw to its buying team.
A specialist in Italian wines, Zyw will be overseeing the category with the support of buying assistant Chloe Dale-Harris.
Berry Bros. & Rudd buying director Abi Hirshfeld said: “I am delighted Davy is joining the team. He will bring experience and a fresh pair of eyes to our already world class buying team. Davy is passionate about Italy and has a deep knowledge of Italian wines. We look forward to his contribution in bringing our Italian range to an authoritative and market-leading level.”
Zyw has spent the past four years working as global wine and spirits buyer at Direct Wines where he bought wines from Italy, Champagne, South Africa, South America and England. Prior to Direct Wines, he was assistant product development manager at Tesco.
During his career in the wine industry he has also completed a Wine Business Degree at Plumpton College and worked as a sommelier at Le Gavroche and commis sommelier at D&D’s The Bluebird.
