Asda takes to the skies with hot air balloon wine tasting experience

Asda is offering customers the chance to win wine tasting sessions in a hot air balloon 2,000 feet above the ground.

From 24th to 25th July, the winning customers will board one of the supermarket’s aptly named ‘Wine Flights where they will be able to sample six new wines from Asda’s Wine Atlas range and enjoy a selection of nibbles while travelling above the British countryside.

With each balloon being fully equipped with seats and tables, the flights will be taking off from Ashton Court Estate in Bristol.

Guests will be accompanied on the flights by Asda’s in-house wine experts who will guide the experience.

Asda’s Wine Atlas range aims to shine a light on lesser-known grape varieties with all bottles priced at £7 and under.

James Yelland, senior manager of wine buying at Asda said: “Asda’s Wine Flight experience takes wine discovery to new heights, with an unforgettable trip that we’re incredibly excited to offer to some of our lucky customers.

“The Wine Atlas range is all about broadening horizons and branching out from what we’re used to, and some of our highlights include Fetească Regală from the Mureș County in Romania and the native Greek Rhoditis.”

To be in with a chance of winning a place on one of the hour-long evening flights, customers must enter via the supermarket’s website. Entries will close on Thursday 18 July when places will be allocated via a ballot.
