Asda extends partnership with Rowe’s bakers in south west
Asda has extended its partnership with Cornish bakery Rowe’s by launching seven new Rowe’s concessions in its supermarkets across the south west.
The partnership began in 2009 with the launch of a concession in Asda’s St. Austell store. This was followed by the addition of two further counters in Plymouth and Falmouth.
The move means that Asda shoppers in Newton Abbott, Hayle Harbour, Weston Supermare, Weymouth, Bodmin, Yeovil and Barnstaple can now pick up authentic Cornish baked goods such as pasties, sausage rolls and steak slices alongside their weekly shop.
Asda has extended the partnership as part of its strategy to “win locally” by offering customers a point of difference and more reasons to shop at Asda.
Jessica Marsters, food partnerships co-ordinator at Asda, said: “We’re really excited to be extending our partnership with Rowe’s ahead of the busy tourist season, having worked together for almost 15 years. We know that Rowe’s is a much-loved brand amongst our customers so it’s great to be able to bring their Cornish delights to more people across the South West.”
Jason Prime, retail lead at Rowe’s added: “Our three established Asda concessions perform incredibly well and have proved to us that there is a strong demand for our products from Asda soppers. We’re excited to be expanding our partnership with Asda and grow our business in the southwest and beyond.”
