Aldi to donate almost half a million easter eggs to local charities
Aldi is donating almost half a million surplus easter eggs to charities across the UK.
Until 11 April, the supermarket will be giving up to 50 easter eggs per store each day to local charities and food banks that support vulnerable families and children.
The range of eggs will include Aldi’s Moser Roth Delectable Duo and Curious Inventions as well as Maltesers Teasers and Cadbury Twirl chocolate eggs.
The move forms part of Aldi’s ongoing partnership with community engagement platform Neighbourly through which Aldi stores donate food to local charities and community groups at the end of each day.
Fritz Walleczek, managing director of corporate responsibility at Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We’re always looking for new and creative ways to increase the amount of food that we’re able to donate. Working with Neighbourly to donate easter eggs to different groups and charities across the nation is a great way for us to bring a festive treat this Easter.”
