Aldi reveals locations for next 11 new stores
Aldi has announced the locations of its next 11 new stores as it looks to reach more customers across the UK.
There will be openings in Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire and Olney Park in Milton Keynes next month while town such as Aberdare in Wales, Broughty Ferry in Dundee and Leytonstone in London will see new stores launch “in the near future”.
The supermarket has also opened a new store in Goole earlier this month and is on track to have a total 35 new sites this year. Each shop creates an average of 40 new jobs.
£550 million investment in 2024
Aldi is set to invest £550 million in expanding its UK footprint this year as it works towards its long-term target of having 1,500 stores in the country.
Jonathan Neale, real estate managing director at Aldi UK, said: “At Aldi, we want to ensure that high quality yet affordable food is available to everyone which is why we are continuing to expand across the UK.
“We have already opened several new stores this year, from Skelmersdale in Lancashire and Newport in Wales to Castle Gresley in Derbyshire and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, and now we’re excited to bring Aldi to even more communities over the coming months.”
