Aldi invests £12 million in further price cuts
Aldi is investing £12 million in cutting the prices of more than 180 products in the run-up to Christmas.
The supermarket is lowering prices by an average of over 20% on items such as stuffing, chocolate and prosecco, as well as some products in its frozen party food range.
The move follows the announcement of Aldi’s ‘Christmas Price Lock’ which has seen the prices of key food staples, including a range of whole turkey crowns, pigs in blankets, Christmas puddings and festive vegetables, being held at the same prices as 2022.
Aldi has lowered the prices of almost 300 products in the past few months.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “This latest investment is part of our continued efforts to make great quality food affordable for all, from party food treats to iconic Christmas essentials.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy the festive season, so we’re doing all we can to keep our prices low this Christmas – just as we always do.”
