Zara signs for new flagship store at Glasgow Fort

Zara is to upsize and open a new flagship store at British Land’s Glasgow Fort retail park.

The fashion brand will be relocating from its current location to a 37,000 square foot store that was previously occupied by Topshop and Topman. The move will double Zara’s footprint at the scheme.

Spanning two floors, the store will feature an expanded range of products across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and homeware.

Ben Grose, head of retail leasing at British Land, said: “Zara’s decision to double their footprint and open a flagship store at Glasgow Fort is a fantastic endorsement for the park. Since the pandemic, we’ve seen retail parks become increasingly popular with retailers and their customers due to affordability of space, larger stores, accessibility and rapid growth of click and collect, which has helped drive strong leasing activity over the last 18 months.”

The new shop is expected to open in late 2023. Other fashion retailers with a presence at Glasgow Fort include the likes of Next, Mango, Marks & Spencer and River Island.
