Zalando to begin selling face masks

Zalando is to begin selling affordable textile masks on its online fashion store in  all 17 markets.

All profits from the sales will be donated to charities focusing on areas that are particularly affected by the pandemic.

Prices for the non-medical masks will start from one euro each and there will be several designs to choose from. The range will be increased throughout the coming weeks with a wider range of designs. The products are being sourced through Zalando’s private label production and brands in its wholesale business and partner programme.

Kate Heiny (pictured), director sustainability at Zalando “We believe that everyone should have access to a mask. Providing affordable textile masks will help people to protect others around them and preserve medical masks for health care professionals. We are very pleased to donate the profit generated from the sales of the textile masks to international efforts against the coronavirus via Humedica.”
