Zalando tests geolocation based delivery
Zalando, the German online fashion retailer, is currently testing its first geolocation based delivery service.
The test is being run in Belgium in partnership with Belgian start-up Parcify.
Customers taking part in the test can choose when and where they want their package to be delivered and can change the time and place at short notice.
When shopping customers do not insert their own address but a special “Parcify address” for their delivery. Once the package has been delivered to the “Parcify address”, customers are informed via push notification and can schedule the delivery on their preferred geolocation.
In a statement, Zalando said: “From the beginning we have focused on reducing the barriers of online shopping. Instead of asking our customers to go somewhere or be somewhere, we want to be where our customers are.”
Shoppers can schedule deliveries seven days a week from 7am until midnight.
