Zalando posts strong third quarter sales
Online fashion retailer Zalando has grown its third quarter revenue by 26.7% to €1.5 billion after its website received more than one billion visits in a single quarter for the first time.
During the period, the company expanded its customer base by 17.5% year-on-year to 29.5 million and also achieved a positive adjusted EBIT of €6.3 million or a margin of 0.4%
Zalando said its sales growth was particularly strong in Spain, the Nordic region and the Czech Republic.
David Schröder, chief financial officer of Zalando, said: “We had a strong third quarter with more active customers who more and more frequently look for inspiration on Zalando. We are growing at a high pace across all regions. We want to maintain the momentum for a strong finish to the year and look forward to celebrating together with our customers the upcoming Cyber Week and the festive season.”
