Yoox-Net-A-Porter sees mobile orders surge over Cyber Weekend

Yoox Net-A-Porter, the online luxury fashion retailer, saw a significant rise in purchases made on mobile devices after the festive season kicked-off on Black Friday with the proportion of sales reaching an all time high of 66% on Sunday.

There was a surge in customers making their first order via the group’s apps, with the YOOX iOS app trending in Italy and ranked number one in the “Shop until you Drop” section of the App store.

In the retailer’s ‘hard luxury’ category, the highest priced item sold on Net-A-Porter was a diamond bracelet at £38,000. Earrings also sold well over the weekend period and included the sale of a single diamond ear cuff priced at £20,000.

The category also performed well in the US where trade was boosted by the launch of new fine jewellery collections. Female customers were more likely to focus on high-end evening wear with some gowns selling for as much as £9,000.

Leather jackets, winter coats and blazers all proved popular with Mr Porter’s customers. Sales of fine watches were also strong, driven by recent brand launches from the likes of of TAG Heuer, Piaget and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
