Vestiaire Collective acquires Tradesy fashion resale business

Vestiaire Collective, the global online marketplace for pre-loved fashion, has acquired the US fashion resale business Tradesy.

In a statement, the company said the move will significantly increase the size and reach of the two peer-to-peer marketplaces which will benefit both sellers and buyers. The combined company will have a membership community of 23 million people and a catalogue of five million items.

In recent years, Vestiaire Collective has grown at an accelerated pace in the US which has become its largest market. To serve its expanded customer base in the country, it will now be opening a new authentication centre in the Los Angeles area, which will be its fifth globally and second in the US.

Maximilian Bittner, chief executive of Vestiaire Collective, and Fanny Moizant, founder and president of Vestiaire Collective, will continue to serve in their current roles at the combined company. Meanwhile, Tracy DiNunzio, founder and chief executive of Tradesy, will become chief executive of the combined US operations.
