Vans opens concept store in Covent Garden

Vans has opened a new concept store in London’s Covent Garden district.

The 4,359 square foot store stocks a selection of the brand’s footwear, apparel and accessories including Vault by Vans and its latest collaboration with Vivienne Westwood.

Situated at 5-7 Neal Street, it has been designed by an in-house team and features a dedicated events space in the basement.

Diego Baronchelli, vice president direct to consumer at Vans, said: “We are very excited about our retail transformation coming to life in London, we aim to provide shoppers with a much needed differentiated and authentic consumer experience. Covent Garden, being home to London’s most iconic stores, seemed like the perfect place for the first boutique store in Europe.”

In addition, Vans is set to open its first store on London’s Oxford Street and will also embark on a series of store refits that will include its Carnaby Street shop.

Covent Garden has also seen dance shoe brand LaDuca open a store in recent months.

Simon Taylor, property director at the Mercers’ Company, said the new Vans store will sit well alongside the fashion-forward retailers in Covent Garden. He added: “The brand’s selection of our Neal Street unit to kick start their transformation showcases the popular and successful status that the Mercers’ Estate holds as a leading retail destination, and we look forward to welcoming the array of creative activations within their exciting event space.”
