Uniqlo to open first physical store in Poland
Uniqlo is to open its first physical store in Poland through the launch of a pop-up store at the Wars Sawa Junior shopping destination in Warsaw.
Spanning 800 square meters, the two-storey space will sell fashion for women, men, kids and babies when it opens in the autumn.
Taku Morikawa, Uniqlo Europe chief executive, said: “The decision to establish a physical presence in this new market builds on our experience of offering customers latest products via the Uniqlo Europe online store. Through our pop-up store we hope to gain a deeper understanding of the Polish market and use learnings to make long-term plans for the future.”
Wars Sawa Junior is situated in the centre of Warsaw and is close to the city’s busiest commuting hubs, business districts and popular tourist attractions.
Scott Dwyer, group managing director of retail at Wars Sawa Junior owner, Atrium European Real Estate, said: “This combination forms a special environment where we believe Uniqlo will feel right at home.”
Earlier this month, Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing announced that Uniqlo sister brand GU is to open its first bricks-and-mortar store in the US this autumn.
