Uniqlo strengthens management structure
Fast Retailing has announced that its chairman and president of Uniqlo, Tadashi Yanai, has become chairman and chief executive of the Japanese fashion brand as part of plans to accelerate growth.
In his new role, he will continue to lead the managerial decision-making and business expansion processes for the company.
Meanwhile, Daisuke Tsukagoshi, who currently serves as the global chief executive of the daily operations of Uniqlo, has been appointed as executive director, president, and chief operating officer of the brand.
Fast Retailing said the appointments will help to strengthen its management function as it looks to create a team that brings together managers in each market. They also reflect Uniqlo’s teamwork-focused Zen-in Keiei management principle where employees are encouraged to adoptĀ a “managerial mindset”.
Yanai and Tsukagoshi will be taking up their new roles on 1 September.
