Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland team up on 90s inspired collection
PVH has announced that its Tommy Hilfiger brand has teamed up with Timberland to launch a joint collection for autumn 2021.
In a statement, the company said the Tommy X Timberland collection aims to combine the classic American DNA of Tommy Hilfiger with Timberland’s outdoor and work aesthetic.
The first drop of the range consists of a 17-piece hybrid capsule that pays homage to the signature styles of the 1990s while celebrating the heritage of both brands. Spanning the apparel, footwear and accessory categories, the collection includes items such as zip-off carpenter pants, a two-in-one reversible varsity jacket and a voluminous recycled parka. In addition, the classic Timberland six-inch boot has been remixed with the classic Tommy Hilfiger flag and added zip detailing.
Tommy Hilfiger said: “This partnership with Timberland has been such a creative adventure for me and a long time coming. Diving into our archives and reliving that optimistic, ‘anything is possible’ energy of the ‘90s along with Timberland was a great and nostalgic experience. Culture shaped our brands, and in turn we shaped the fashion landscape of the time.”
Christopher Raeburn, global creative director at Timberland, added: “The power of collaboration is bringing the best each brand has to offer, then pushing boundaries to create something radically different, together. The pieces we created in this first drop are instantly recognisable as Timberland and Tommy. It’s like a cultural memory book, seen through a progressive lens.”
The first drop of the range will be followed by a second in November.
