Tilley Endurables sold to Gilbralter & Company
Tilley Endurables, the Canadian hat and travel apparel manufacturer and retailer, has been sold by Hilco Capital to Toronto-based investment firm, Gibraltar & Company.
The company was founded in 1980 and was acquired by Hilco Capital from its founder, Alex Tilley, on his retirement in 2015.
Andrew Prendergast, president and chief executive at Tilley Endurables, said: “Tilley’s collaboration with Hilco Capital has strengthened its core business and positioned the brand for significant growth under Gibraltar & Company ownership. It’s an exciting time for Tilley associates around the world.”

Prior to the sale, Hilco restructured the business, strengthened its management team and expanded its product range. Tilley products are distributed in Canada, the USA and the UK.
