The Portman Estate welcomes more fashion brands to Marylebone

Two new fashion brands are set to open stores on The Portman Estate’s 110-acre estate in Marylebone.

Handbag designer Sophie Hulme has signed up for a 710 square foot space at 38 Chiltern Street for her first permanent boutique. The store will offer the brand’s full collection of distinctive handbags, including its signature Albion tote, and will open this spring.

Other independent accessories brands taking space at Chiltern Street in recent years include Anna Laub’s luxury swim and resort wear brand, homeware and accessories boutique Mouki Mou, jeweller Cox & Power, and Mats Klingsberg’s Trunk LABS.

Meanwhile, menswear brand Dashing Tweeds will be relocating its Mayfair boutique this spring to a 1,200 square foot shop on Dorset Street. Its arrival will add to the continued growth of the specialist menswear offer in this corner of Marylebone, which under the stewardship of The Portman Estate, has attracted the likes of John Simons, Hamilton and Hare, Sunspel, and Trunk Clothiers in recent years.

Philip Norris, head of retail at The Portman Estate, said: “Chiltern Street has established itself as a must-visit for specialist retail, following the arrival of some really exciting stores and the continued success of Marylebone’s independent retailers, such as Grey Flannel. We’re pleased to see this extend to the neighbouring Dorset Street with the arrival of Dashing Tweeds. We have no doubt these new stores will complement the offer in this corner of Marylebone perfectly.”
