The Children’s Place appoints new chief financial officer
Kids’ clothing and footwear retailer The Children’s Place has promoted Robert Helm to the position of chief financial officer.
Currently the company’s senior vice president for finance and inventory management, he will succeed Michael Scarpa who will be retiring on 31 March.
Jane Elfers, president and chief executive of The Children’s Place, said: “Rob is involved in all aspects of the business and has been instrumental in helping to navigate the company throughout the Covid-19 crisis. I have confidence in Rob’s ability to seamlessly transition to the CFO role and to continue to partner with me to create value for our shareholders.”
Helm joined the company in 2016 and since then has taken on positions of increasing responsibility in preparation for eventually taking over the chief financial officer role. He is currently responsible for financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, accounting operations, tax, treasury, investor relations and inventory management and will also oversee internal audit following his promotion. He will report directly to Elfers.
Prior to joining The Children’s Place, Helm held senior finance and accounting roles at Ralph Lauren, Fresh Direct, and Rag & Bone.
