The Burberry Foundation partners with Save the Children to support young Ukrainians
The Burberry Foundation is partnering with Save the Children to launch a new programme to support young people impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Called Life Chances, the scheme will help Ukrainian refugees to further their education and career prospects while improving their social and emotional wellbeing,
Running exclusively in Poland until June 2025, the programme is designed to assist Ukrainian refugees aged 14 to 18. To support wider social well-being and cohesion, the programme will also be extended to young people in Poland, with services being fully available in November 2023.
Poland continues to be home to a large population of Ukrainian refugees. However, according to a release from Save the Children, NRC, Plan International and World Vision, it is estimated that only 44% of Ukrainian children were enrolled within a local school at the end of the 2022/2023 academic year.
Nicole Lovett, programme director at Burberry, said: “Save the Children plays a pivotal role in ensuring young people across the globe are safe, healthy and are given the tools they need to reach their full potential. The Burberry Foundation is proud to partner with them on Life Chances, a programme that will help the thousands of young people impacted by the crisis to recover, grow and create opportunities for a better future.”
