The Bok Shop teams up with Off Grid on new retail experience

The Bok Shop homemade fried chicken brand has teamed up with London sneaker boutique Off Grid to create a retail experience with a difference.

A new The Bok Shop restaurant at the Westquay shopping centre in Southampton will host a bespoke limited edition sneaker display to enable customers to dine while purchasing the latest Yeezys and coveted Air Jordan Diors from trainer experts.

The 100-cover space will also play host to regular evening and weekend music-led events and will offer a balance of contemporary and nostalgic street food cooked with fresh homemade ingredients in state-of-the-art Henny Penny pressure fryers.

Spanning 3,700 square feet, the restaurant will be The Bok Shop’s fourth outlet and follows previous openings in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. The brand plans to roll out 10 new sites in the next two years.

Jamie O’Mara, co-founder of The Bok Shop, said: “We’re bringing our love of fried chicken together with ultra-rare sneakers in a way that hasn’t been done before, and we can’t wait to bring this exciting concept to the people of Southampton. It’s been an exciting journey watching our business grow from a single shop in Brighton to multiple sites across the South Coast, with Southampton representing the natural next step in our expansion.”

Situated in Southampton city centre, Westquay is also home to the Carluccio’s, Fridays, Wagamama and YO! Sushi restaurants.

Harry Badham, chief development and asset repositioning officer at Hammerson, said: “This collaboration and partnership is a sign of how retail and dining are changing and coming together in new ways to create special places for our customers. The Bok Shop’s innovation and ethical credentials are aligned with our own ambitions.”
