Ted Baker agrees licence deal for Japan
Fashion retailer Ted Baker has entered into an agreement with Sojitz Infinity to create an exclusive retail licence deal for Japan.
With the deal running for an initial five years, Sojitz Infinity will help Ted Baker to expand its brand presence in the region. The licence is expected to commence on 1 October.
Ted Baker already has five stores in Japan and plans to build on this and expand its concession network with Sojitz Infinity. It also hopes to benefit from the company’s knowledge of the local market, particularly with regard to department stores.
Lindsay Page, chief executive of Ted Baker, said: “We are very excited about the next stage of growth for the Ted Baker brand in Japan. Over recent years, we have invested in introducing Ted Baker to Japanese customers and we are confident that our new Japanese Retail Licence Partner will build on this platform and deliver meaningful long-term growth.”
