Tapestry appoints chief operations officer
Tapestry, the owner of the Kate Spade, Coach and Stuart Weitzman luxury lifestyle brands, has hired Thomas Glaser as its chief operations officer.
Glaser will join the business on 15 July and have responsibility for information technology and the company’s end-to-end supply chain. He will also have functional oversight of product development and manufacturing resources, distribution, logistics, replenishment, ecommerce fulfilment and IT.
He will report directly to Tapestry chief executive Victor Luis.
Glaser’s background includes working with VF Corporation since 2001, most recently in the position of vice president of VF Corporation and president of the supply chain. Prior to joining VF in 2001, he served as vice president of sourcing and operations for various brands within Phillips-Van Heusen where he began his career.
Commenting on the appointment, Luis said: “Tom’s leadership and outstanding operational track record at global multi-brand fashion companies make him an excellent addition to the Tapestry leadership team.
“His experience in managing and transforming complex supply chains to deal with the endless innovation required by successful consumer franchises make him uniquely qualified to build upon the foundation that we’ve already created at Tapestry.”
