Tala to open first UK flagship store on Carnaby Street
Activewear brand Tala has chosen London’s Carnaby Street for the launch of its first-ever retail store.
Set to open in May, the 2,000-square-foot, double-fronted flagship will span two levels and will aim to offer customers an immersive and interactive shopping experience.
This milestone marks the next phase of Tala’s expansion following its presence in Selfridges stores from the spring of 2024.
It also comes after the brand secured £5 million in funding last July, led by Pembroke VCT, alongside Venrex and Active Partners. The brand said the investment has paved the way for it to establish a physical retail presence and accelerate its growth both in the UK and internationally.
Founded by Grace Beverley in 2019, Tala is dedicated to creating versatile, high-quality apparel for an active lifestyle.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Tala’s chief executive Morgan Fowles said: “The opening of our flagship store is a celebration of Tala’s growth, and given Carnaby Street’s International footfall, a strategic move to solidify our presence both in the UK retail market and with International customers.
“Our customers have told us resoundingly, including via our success at Selfridges stores across the UK, that they still love shopping in physical stores.
“Carnaby Street is an incredibly exciting and well-aligned place to open our first retail store and is a key milestone in the multi-channel and international growth strategy we’re rapidly executing to support the demand for our brand and products.”
William Oliver, director of retail and restaurant leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, added: “Introducing a Tala flagship here is recognition of how important physical retail is for digitally native brands and Carnaby Street’s unique ability to champion leading innovators while creating a quality, exciting offer for its international catchment.”
