Superdry appoints Hotel Chocolat CMO as non-executive director
Superdry has appointed marketing specialist Lysa Hardy as a non-executive director.
Due to take up her position from 1 May, Hardy has gained extensive marketing experience from roles in the technology and retail sectors. She has also held private equity and international roles, and is a specialist in multichannel, consumer brands and CRM/loyalty.
Hardy is currently chief marketing officer and an executive director at Hotel Chocolat where she has served since 2018. During this time, Hotel Chocolat has seen revenue increase by 95% from £116.3 million in 2018 to £222.6 million in 2022.
Profits, however, have not been so favourable. As well as Covid taking its toll on the industry, Hotel Chocolat’s 2022 reported profit after tax came out at a loss of -£3.7 million. However, much of this was due to one-off costs and adjustments following the closure of US stores and restructuring of a joint venture in Japan.
In addition to being CMO for Hotel Chocolat, Hardy is also a non-executive director of a skincare start-up. Her career has also included working in senior roles at T-Mobile, Holland & Barrett and Joules.
Peter Sjölander, chair of the board of Superdry, said: “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Lysa as our new non-executive director. Her depth of experience in digital marketing and global business transformation will enhance the board’s skillset as we continue to deliver on our strategic objectives.”
