Steph Strike to step down as George at Asda managing director
The Asda supermarket chain has confirmed that Steph Strike is to step down as managing director of its George clothing label.
She will leave the company later this year to take up a new role.
Strike has held the position since 2019 but has worked with Asda for 25 years after joining as a graduate trainee. Her previous roles at the supermarket have included vice president of customer proposition and planning and category director.
Asda chief executive Roger Burnley said: “Steph has given exceptional service to Asda over a 25 year period during which time she has successfully led a number of different functions whilst mentoring and inspiring many colleagues to fulfil their potential. Whilst we are very sorry to see here go, her new opportunity is an excellent one and she leaves with our best wishes.”
The George leadership team will report to Burnley on an interim basis until Strike’s successor is appointed.
Last month, Asda announced that Burnley has decided to leave the business next year.
