St James’s plays host to London Fashion Week Men’s event

London’s St James’s hosted a series of fashion shows on Saturday as Jermyn Street became traffic free to accommodate an open-air catwalk for the London Fashion Week Men’s event.

Over 30 brands participated in a runway display which included heritage brands such as New & Lingwood, John Smedley and Aquascutum as well as the more contemporary Jigsaw, Aspinal of London and Sunspel. Visitors to the area were also given the opportunity to see three further shows that day.

VIP guests included Jim Chapman, Hu Bing and Dougie Poynter. The event was also attended by British Fashion Council chief executive Caroline Rush and British Fashion Council chairman Dylan Jones.

The show was styled and curated by the fashion director of Esquire magazine, Catherine Hayward

Rush said: “We are delighted to see the St James’ show take place for the fifth consecutive summer season in St James’s. Jermyn Street is home to a wide variation of British and international brands from heritage tailoring labels to contemporary design and innovative sportswear. It is a dynamic hub for menswear and a key moment of the LFWM schedule where the public can get involved to celebrate the best of fashion and of what our city has to offer.”
