Sosandar announces passing of chairman Bill Murray
Sosandar has announced that its non-executive chairman Bill Murray has passed away over the weekend.
In a statement, the women’s fashion retailer said his fellow board members and other colleagues are deeply saddened by his passing.
The company will provide a further update in due course.
Murray had worked with Sosandar founders and co-chief executives Ali Hall and Julie Lavington from early 2014 when he assisted them with fundraising and other aspects of bringing the business to life. He was appointed to the role of chairman at the start of 2016.
With extensive experience in the media sector, he previously worked for 22 years with Haymarket Group until 2008 where his most recent role was managing director of digital strategy. He was also chairman of The Hollins Murray Group commercial property business.
Hall and Lavington said: “It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Bill over the weekend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
“Bill has left a lasting legacy to the business and his dedication and commitment to the success and growth of Sosandar will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and condolences to Bill’s family and loved ones during this terribly difficult and sad time.”
